A small aircraft carrying five people crashed near a retirement community in Manheim Township, Pennsylvania, on Sunday afternoon, bursting into flames upon impact. Authorities confirmed that all five passengers survived and were hospitalized for treatment.

According to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), the Beechcraft Bonanza had just taken off from Lancaster Airport before it crashed around 3 p.m. The Manheim Borough Police Department reported that the plane skidded nearly 100 feet after hitting the ground but did not cause any injuries to people on the ground.

Emergency teams swiftly responded, transporting all five passengers to Lancaster General Hospital. Two patients were later transferred to a specialized burn center, while two remained under treatment at Lancaster General as of Sunday night.

Air Traffic Control audio revealed that the pilot reported an open door issue and requested to return for landing. However, moments later, the control tower instructed the aircraft to "pull up" before the crash occurred.

Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro confirmed that state police were assisting local first responders and assured that all necessary resources were being deployed to support the ongoing investigation.

Both the FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) have launched an inquiry into the cause of the crash, with further updates expected as the investigation progresses.
