The Indian School Bahrain (ISB), one of the Kingdom’s most respected educational institutions, is celebrating a historic milestone, 75 years of dedicated service in education. Established in 1950, the school’s Platinum Jubilee year is being commemorated through a series of thoughtfully planned programmes that honour its legacy, celebrate its present achievements, and reaffirm its commitment to the future.
The highlight of the Platinum Jubilee celebrations will be the ISB Annual Cultural Fair, Platinum Jubilee Year 2025, scheduled for 15 and 16 January 2026. Recognised as one of the school’s most anticipated community events, the fair has evolved into a vibrant platform for artistic expression, cultural exchange, and social engagement.
The festivities will begin on Thursday, 15 January, with a musical concert by acclaimed Indian musician Stephen Devassy and his team. On 16 January, students will present cultural performances, followed by an energetic musical show led by playback singer Rupali Jagga, accompanied by Abhishek Soni and their ensemble.
Presented by Star Vision Events, the fair promises two evenings of cultural richness, entertainment, and family-friendly activities, running from 6:00 pm to 10:30 pm. Visitors can expect a wide array of student performances, reflecting the diverse artistic talents nurtured at ISB.
A major attraction will be the fair’s extensive food and recreation zones. Licensed outdoor catering establishments will offer a selection of delicacies, featuring regional specialities from Bahrain alongside popular cuisines from various Indian states.
Numerous games, entertainment stalls, and recreational activities will engage children, youth, and families, transforming the school grounds into a lively and festive space. Adding further excitement, Zayani Motors has generously sponsored an MG ZS car as part of the lucky draw, scheduled for 18 January 2026 at 11:00 AM. Other prizes include gold coins and additional valuable items. The school is optimistic that the draw will help raise substantial funds, which will be directed towards much-needed infrastructure improvements, in addition to supporting student financial aid and staff welfare initiatives.
The large-scale Platinum Jubilee events are being organised through meticulous planning and strong collaboration. A dedicated committee, led by the principals and vice-principals and supported by teachers from multiple departments, has been formed. Complementing this is a 501-member parent organising committee, led by General Convener R. Ramesh of Santy Constructions WLL and Platinum Jubilee General Convener Prince S. Natarajan.
Reflecting on the significance of the Jubilee celebrations, ISB Hon. Chairman Adv. Binu Mannil Varughese expressed heartfelt appreciation for the enthusiasm shown by students, staff, parents, and volunteers, noting that their collective efforts strengthen both the scale and quality of the celebrations as well as the school’s commitment to excellence and community bonding.
With an entry fee of BD 2, all proceeds from the fair will support ISB’s educational and welfare programmes. Shuttle bus services from the national stadium will ensure convenient access and parking for visitors. With over 12,000 students and 700 staff members actively involved in preparations, the celebrations reflect the unity, diversity, and vibrancy of the ISB community.
