Bhavans-Bahrain Indian School Hosts Criio Cricket Matches for Girls
Bhavans-Bahrain Indian School (BIS) successfully organised the Criio Cricket Matches for Girls, involving students from Grades 6 to 12, as part of the Bahrain Cricket Federation’s Cricket Week, reaffirming its commitment to inclusivity, empowerment, and the holistic development of students through sports.
The event witnessed the participation of five spirited teams, Green, Red, Yellow, Pink, and Blue, whose enthusiasm and determination turned the field into a celebration of energy, teamwork, and passion. Each six-member team displayed exceptional coordination, discipline, and a deep love for the game, reflecting the school’s emphasis on experiential learning and character building through athletics.
Played with a soft ball to ensure safety and fun, the matches combined the thrill of competition with the joy of camaraderie. After several exciting rounds, the Pink Team emerged as champions, while the Red Team secured the runner-up position following an impressive performance. The initiative received high appreciation from the Directors of Bahrain Indian School, Mr Himanshu Verma and Mrs Ritu Verma, who lauded the event for encouraging greater participation of girls in sports and for fostering values of teamwork, equality, and confidence. “At BIS, we believe that every sporting event is an opportunity to build character, leadership, and lifelong confidence. The Criio Cricket initiative reflects our vision of empowering girls to break barriers and excel with passion and integrity.” said Mr. Himanshu Verma.
