Al Ahli outclass Nabih Saleh in volleyball league

Al Ahli powered to a resounding 3-1 (25-21, 25-23, 22-25, 27-25) victory over Nabih Saleh last night in their round-of-six contest of the 2022/2023 Isa bin Rashid Bahrain Volleyball League.

The game took place at Isa bin Rashid Arena at Isa Sports City in Riffa. It was part of the second phase of the league’s six-team playoffs, which is being played in double round-robin format.

The top four at the end of these fixtures move on to the league’s semi-finals.

Among those leading the way for Ahli last night was Canadian import Jerome Cross, who finished with 13 points.

They also got key contributions from Ali Alsairafi, Mohammed Anan, Naser Anan, Abbas Al Khabbaz, Sayed Mohammed Alabbar and Mahmood Abdulhussain.

For Nabih Saleh, Sayed Hashem was their leading scorer with an impressive 31 points, while also playing key roles for their team were Hussain Ashoor, Jaafar Radhi.

Nabih Saleh were without Kenyan professional Peter Camara, who has already left the team.

With the result, Ahli improved to a 6-2 win-loss record while Nabih Saleh remained winless after eight outings. Ahli continued to trail Al Najma on the standings.

Najma boast a 7-1 mark.

Behind Ahli are Dar Kulaib (5-2), Muharraq (3-5), Al Nasser (2-5) and Nabih Saleh.
