Mahmoud shines in Godfathers Tournament qualifying at Funland
Mohammed Mahmoud was amongst the top scorers on the latest day of qualifying held Thursday night in The Godfathers Tournament at Funland Centre. The competition is taking place in memory of the late Murtadha Qudrat Rasti and the late Shaikh Ebrahim bin Mohammed Al Khalifa.
Mahmoud bowled the daily high series amongst Group C players of 563 pinfalls. That raised his average to 199.3 from a total of 1,794 from his three best series so far. His other two top scores were 628 and 603 as he rose to the top of his division standings. Mahmoud was followed in Group C by Ahmed Al Ansari, who owned a 162.4 average and a 1,462 total. In third was Mariam Modara to make an all-Bahraini top three. She had marks of 155.2 and 1,397.
Following them in the group for beginning bowlers were Becky Gallenera, Eman Tiglao and Layla Janahi. Meanwhile, Emad Jahromi scored the high series of the day in Group A while Mustafa Qaed had the best series in Group B. Jahromi took down 622 pins to top Thursday’s elite bowlers. His outing was his best of the competition so far, and it improved his average to 198.8 from a 1,789 total.
Jahromi’s other leading scores were 617 and 612. He improved to fourth position on the Group A standings in qualifying. Dante Tisdom continued to lead with a 226.0 average and 2,034 total, while Emerson Gotencio followed with scores of 218.0 and 1,962.
