Curtains close on Falconry tournament
Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports and President of Bahrain Olympic Committee deputised HH Shaikh Faisal bin Rashid Al Khalifa, President of Bahrain Royal Equestrian and Endurance Federation (BREEF), to attend the closing ceremony of thebBahrain Tournament for Falcon and Hunting on Saturday at Sofitel Hotel and Spa in Zallaq.
The ceremony was attended by members of the Royal Family, participants and owners of the participating animals in the tournament and included poetic sessions and 10 of the winning falcons of the 35 participating in a beauty pageant.
Shaikh Faisal awarded prizes to the winners, participants, organisers and supporters of the tournament and congratulated Shaikh Nasser on the success of the five week tournament and said it achieved his visions and ambitions to preserve and strengthen traditional games and promote national heritage among the younger generations.
