Jürgen Klopp Appointed New Germany Head Coach on Four-Year Deal Through 2030

The DFB has officially confirmed the appointment of Jürgen Klopp as Germany’s new head coach on a four-year contract through 2030, taking over from Julian Nagelsmann.
Nagelsmann stepped down following a review of Germany’s early round-of-32 exit against Paraguay at the 2026 FIFA World Cup in North America. In the wake of his departure, the German Football Association acted swiftly to open talks with Klopp, who was serving as Red Bull's Head of Global Soccer while working as a pundit for MagentaTV during the tournament.
As reported by Bild, the DFB will avoid paying Red Bull a traditional compensation fee for the 59-year-old manager. Instead, a €1 million donation will be made to Red Bull's non-profit foundation, "Wings for Life."
Klopp's backroom staff will feature Pepijn Lijnders, Peter Krawietz, and Sven Bender. His tenure with the national team is set to begin during September's UEFA Nations League fixtures against the Netherlands on September 24 and Greece on September 27.
