Firas Al Basri Wins Bahrain Under-14 Billiards Title

Firas Al Basri took first place in Bahrain’s opening Under-14 billiards ranking tournament of 2026 after beating Faisal Al Basri 4-2 in the final.

The Bahrain Billiard Sports and Darts Federation event drew 12 players.

The final stood at 1-1 and then 2-2 before Firas won two frames in a row to take the title. Faisal had chances to finish several frames but failed to make them count, leaving Firas with openings at the table.

Firas had earlier beaten Hassan Shaker 4-2 in the semi-finals. Shaker dropped into the losers’ bracket, where Faisal ended his hopes of reaching the final with a 4-1 win.

Firas made fewer mistakes than his rivals and kept his form from the early rounds through to the title match. He was also the calmer player at the table and took greater care over his shot choice.

Competition supervisor Yousif Ibrahim handed Firas the winner’s trophy. Faisal received the silver medal, Hassan Shaker took bronze and Hassan Abdulla finished fourth.

Mohammed Al Shorooqi went out early after two straight defeats. He had finished runner-up in the Under-18 tournament.

Parents watched from the sidelines as the young players made their last outing before the first Under-21 ranking event, which begins early next week.
