Bahrain U18s End Group Stage with Third Defeat

Bahrain’s under-18 volleyball team ended its group-stage campaign at the Asian Championship in China with a straight-sets defeat to Iran, losing 25-12, 25-18, 25-14 on Tuesday.
Iran completed the match in three sets to finish top of the group with a perfect record and book its place in the quarter-finals, while Bahrain finished bottom after three defeats.
The result followed Bahrain’s opening 3-1 loss to India and a second 3-1 defeat to the Philippines, leaving the side without a point from its three group matches.
The Asian Under-18 Volleyball Championship is being held in Haikou, China, from 12 to 18 July, with Bahrain drawn alongside Iran, India and the Philippines in Group B.
Despite the group-stage exit, Bahrain will continue its campaign in the classification rounds, where teams eliminated from the race for the title compete for the remaining placings.
