MENA Golf Tour Ends Season at Al Ain
The MENA Golf Tour will conclude its historic 2025/26 season in the UAE, with the Al Ain Championship set to take place at the Al Ain Equestrian, Shooting & Golf Club from March 30 to April 1. Players will compete over three rounds for a $100,000 prize fund and the season-ending Rankings title.
Following successful events in Portugal and Egypt, and upcoming tournaments in Morocco, Jordan, and Qatar, the tour’s top professionals will descend on Al Ain for a fitting finale to one of the most successful seasons in its history.
A Venue with True Pedigree
Al Ain Equestrian, Shooting & Golf Club is widely regarded as one of the region’s premier tournament venues. Its championship course has hosted the Abu Dhabi Challenge on the HotelPlanner Tour for the past two years. The course challenges players with water hazards on most holes and fairways bordered by Al Ain’s horse racing track. Its signature hole, the par-five 10th at 678 yards, is the longest par five in the Arabian Gulf.
Beyond golf, the club offers Olympic and international-standard facilities for equestrian, shooting, rugby, and cricket, making it a standout multi-sport destination in the region.
Mohammed Rashid Al Nasseri, General Manager of Al Ain Equestrian, Shooting & Golf Club, said:
"We are delighted to welcome the MENA Tour back. Hosting another OWGR-recognised event is a proud moment for us. It’s a platform for talented professionals and rising stars, and the return of the MENA Tour helps grow golf in the UAE."
Players Ready for the Challenge
Dubai-based Garrick Porteous, winner of the 2024 Abu Dhabi Challenge at Al Ain, praised the venue:
"I love Al Ain – great memories, a lovely environment, and challenging holes, especially on the back nine. The course is always in fantastic condition."
Emirati Hopes on Home Soil
Ahmad Skaik, the UAE’s top professional golfer, will compete on familiar territory. Having played the Abu Dhabi Challenge in 2024 and 2025 and the inaugural UAE Cup in 2024 at the same venue, Skaik carries the hopes of the home crowd.
"Al Ain is special to me. Returning as a professional for the season finale in front of a home crowd is a great feeling. The MENA Tour has given players like me the platform to develop and compete, and I want to finish the season strongly."
The Al Ain Championship promises to be a fitting conclusion to a landmark season for the MENA Golf Tour and a showcase of emerging talent from across the Middle East.
