A third delegation from the Bahrain Motor Federation has travelled to Sepang as preparations intensify for the Gulf Air Formula One Grand Prix in Malaysia from October 2 to 4, 2026.

The visit to Sepang International Circuit came as the track hosted the fourth round of the Malaysian Touring Car Championship, giving the Bahraini team a first-hand look at how a race weekend is run.

Working with Bahrain International Circuit, the federation is using the visits to study race control, track operations, coordination between teams, technical work and logistics ahead of the Formula One weekend.

They toured key parts of the circuit and watched staff run the Malaysian Touring Car event, paying close attention to how duties are split and how teams work across the venue during racing.

The trip also gave the Bahraini group a chance to exchange experience with Sepang staff and study how the circuit runs its races.
It was the latest in a series of visits by the federation ahead of the October Grand Prix, with work focused on race operations, safety, technical duties and logistics.

The programme is being carried out under the direction of Shaikh Abdulla bin Isa Al Khalifa, president of the Bahrain Motor Federation and FIA vice-president for the Middle East and North Africa.

Shaikh Abdulla has called for close cooperation with circuits and motor racing bodies overseas as Bahraini teams prepare to help run the Formula One event at Sepang.

The federation and Bahrain International Circuit are continuing preparations in the months before the race, drawing on years of experience gained from staging Formula One in Bahrain.

The Sepang race will give Bahraini personnel further experience of helping run a Formula One event outside the kingdom.
