Sitra are set to welcome Al Ain to Khalifa Sports City tomorrow evening in a Matchday 5 of the 2025–26 AGCFF Gulf Club Champions League, as the hosts look to secure their first win of the tournament. The Emiratis arrived in the Kingdom yesterday, ready to continue their strong start in the competition. With only one more group match to follow after this fixture, Sitra know a positive result is vital to keep their campaign alive.
The Bahraini side currently sit at the bottom of Group A with two points from four matches. Their campaign so far includes two goalless draws against Al Qadsia and Zakho, and a 4–1 defeat to Al Ain in their opening fixture. In their most recent outing, Sitra were narrowly beaten 2–1 by Al Qadsia in Kuwait, with a late header from captain Othman Al Hajj keeping them competitive until the final whistle.
Al Ain are second in the group with six points, behind leaders Zakho of Iraq on 10, with Kuwait’s Al Qadsia in third on four points.
Coached by Ali Abdulmajeed, Sitra will rely on goalkeeper Youssef Habib, forward Vincent Emmanuel, and captain Al Hajj to convert opportunities and push for a first win. A strong performance on home soil would not only boost morale, but also keep alive their fighting chance of qualifying for the next stage.
