Five Stars Join 2026 Hero Dubai Desert Classic Line-Up

With just one month to go, excitement is building for the 2026 Hero Dubai Desert Classic at Emirates Golf Club, set to take place from 22-25 January. Five more top golfers have been added to the already impressive field for the first Rolex Series event of the 2026 Race to Dubai.

New additions include PGA Tour winner Ryan Fox, multiple Major champion Pádraig Harrington, Ryder Cup star Nicolai Højgaard, and DP World Tour winners Tom McKibbin and Joaquín Niemann. They will compete alongside defending champion Tyrrell Hatton, Masters Champion Rory McIlroy, FedExCup winner Tommy Fleetwood, 2022 champion Viktor Hovland, 2019 Open Champion Shane Lowry, and former World Number One Dustin Johnson.

Fox, from New Zealand, had a breakthrough 2025 season, winning the Myrtle Beach Classic and RBC Canadian Open. He will play at the Majlis Course for the tenth time. “I enjoy playing in Dubai and at an event with such a rich history. I’m looking forward to starting the 2026 season strong,” he said.

Irish legend Harrington, a two-time Open Champion and 2025 senior Major winner, added: “Playing in Dubai is always enjoyable and helps me kick off the season. I’ve loved competing here throughout my career.”

Denmark’s Højgaard, part of Europe’s winning 2023 Ryder Cup team, said: “Dubai holds great memories for me, and the Hero Dubai Desert Classic is one of the biggest events to start the season.”

Northern Irish golfer McKibbin, who finished tied-sixth in 2025, said: “The Majlis Course is a superb test, and as a Dubai resident, it’s always special to play here.”

Chile’s Niemann, returning for his second appearance after a tied-fourth finish in 2024, said: “The Majlis Course suits my game, and with such a strong field, it’s the perfect way to start the year.”

Simon Corkill, Executive Tournament Director, said: “With top stars from established champions to rising talents, the 37th edition promises outstanding golf and entertainment.”

Beyond the sport, the event offers live entertainment, family activities, and exceptional dining. Tournament Town will feature live bands, DJs, and the expanded Family Zone with workshops, soft play, VR corners, and more. The new Eat Street will showcase Dubai’s top food vendors alongside international favourites like MrBeast Burger and Vietnamese Foodies.

Fans can expect a week of world-class golf, fun, and unforgettable experiences in Dubai this January.
