The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced on Sunday that it will host a Twenty20 International (T20I) tri-series featuring Afghanistan and Sri Lanka in November, as teams prepare for the 2026 Men’s T20 World Cup.
“The series has been organised to provide all teams with valuable preparation ahead of next year’s T20 World Cup in India and Sri Lanka,” the PCB said in a statement.
The tri-series will kick off on November 17 at Rawalpindi Stadium, with Pakistan facing Afghanistan. This will mark the first T20I match between Pakistan and Afghanistan on Pakistani soil.
Afghanistan have previously played in Pakistan in the Asia Cup 2023 and this year’s Champions Trophy, but those matches did not involve the host nation.
Before the tri-series, Pakistan will host South Africa in a bilateral series comprising two Tests, three one-day internationals, and three T20Is from October 12 to November 8.
Tri-Series T20I Schedule:
17 November – Pakistan vs Afghanistan, Rawalpindi
19 November – Sri Lanka vs Afghanistan, Rawalpindi
22 November – Pakistan vs Sri Lanka, Lahore
23 November – Pakistan vs Afghanistan, Lahore
25 November – Sri Lanka vs Afghanistan, Lahore
