Bahrain Sweep Lebanon to Reach Arab Junior Final
Bahrain’s under-18 men’s volleyball team marched into the final of the 17th Arab Junior Volleyball Championship in Amman with a comfortable 3–0 win over Lebanon. They controlled the semi-final 25–18, 25–21, 25–12 at the Sports Palace Hall in Al Hussein Youth City, never allowing their opponents to settle.
Third Set Statement
Lebanon pushed hardest in the second frame, but Bahrain’s tactical organisation and defensive block kept them ahead. The third set underlined the gulf in quality: Bahrain raced to a 22–11 lead, forcing Lebanon to fold as the match slipped beyond reach.
Final vs Egypt
The win sets up a final with Egypt tommorow at 7pm. Egypt also advanced with a straight-sets win, beating Libya 25–18, 25–19, 25–21 in the other semi-final. Both teams arrive unbeaten, with Egypt boasting size at the net and Bahrain relying on high tempo and discipline.
Unbeaten Run Intact
Bahrain remain perfect in Amman, having beaten Kuwait, Iraq, Palestine, and Jordan in earlier rounds. The team, coached by Argentina’s Santiago Faidutti, have now won five matches without dropping a set in their last three.
Tournament Context
The championship is organised by the Arab Volleyball Association, chaired by Bahrain Volleyball Association president Shaikh Ali bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, in cooperation with the Jordan Volleyball Federation. Bahrain’s delegation is led in Amman by BVA vice-president Mohammed Al Thawadi.
