Real Madrid have confirmed the signing of Bournemouth’s 20-year-old defender Dean Huijsen, activating his £50 million (€66.36 million) release clause, with the Dutch-born Spain international set to join the Spanish giants from June 1. The centre-back has committed to a five-year contract that will keep him at the Santiago Bernabéu until 2030.

The transfer follows a standout season for Huijsen at Bournemouth, where he made 34 appearances across all competitions, contributing three goals for the Premier League side under manager Andoni Iraola.
