With just two matches left in the Serie A season, Napoli and Inter Milan are locked in a thrilling title race that could go right down to the wire—or even be settled by a historic playoff.
Napoli currently hold a slender one-point advantage at the top of the table. Their title hopes took a slight hit after a frustrating 2-2 draw against Genoa last weekend, allowing Inter to close the gap. But Antonio Conte’s side remain in control of their destiny: if they win on Sunday and Inter slip up at home to fifth-placed Lazio, the Scudetto will return to Naples.
Conte will have to cope without key midfielder Stanislav Lobotka, who aggravated an ankle injury, but there’s hope as winger David Neres and defender Alessandro Buongiorno are back in contention. The Partenopei are unbeaten in 10 league games—momentum they’ll need to maintain against a scrappy Parma side still battling relegation.
Meanwhile, Inter are peaking at the perfect time. After two costly defeats last month, Simone Inzaghi’s rotated lineup has delivered back-to-back wins, keeping their title defense alive. Though still missing Davide Frattesi and Lautaro Martinez, Inter may welcome back stars like Hakan Calhanoglu, Marcus Thuram, and Nicolo Barella for their clash with Lazio, who are themselves chasing a top-four finish.
Elsewhere, Juventus, Lazio, and Roma are locked in a fierce fight for the final Champions League spot, while the bottom of the table is just as tense. Monza are already relegated, but the likes of Empoli, Lecce, and Venezia are in a dogfight to avoid joining them in Serie B.
With nine decisive matches kicking off simultaneously on Sunday, Italy’s top flight is set for one of the most dramatic finishes in recent memory.
