Four titans clash as the semi-finals tip off at Khalifa Sports City
The spotlight was firmly fixed on Khalifa Sports City Arena last night as the highly anticipated "Zain Golden Square" semi-finals tipped off with exciting matchups in the 2024–2025 First Division Basketball League.
In the first clash of the evening, Muharraq faced off against Al-Najma, followed by an encounter between Manama and Al-Ahli. These opening battles marked the beginning of a best-of-three format, where the first team to win two games will book their spot in the championship final. Should the teams be tied after two games, a decisive third match will be held next Sunday, May 11.
All four clubs entered the Golden Square in top gear, having fine-tuned their squads—particularly Al-Najma and Manama, who made strategic changes to their foreign player lineups to bolster their performance in this critical phase of the competition.
With immense stakes and deep rivalries, the atmosphere was electric, and fans were treated to high-intensity action. The outcomes of these first games are crucial, as an early win provides a vital edge on the road to the final.
Beyond the results, the evening showcased elite-level basketball, with standout performances from both local stars and international imports, setting the stage for a gripping series ahead.
