The Bahrain Entrepreneurship Organisation (BEO) yesterday signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Thattai Hindu Merchants Community (THMC), under the patronage of Piyush Srivastava, the Indian Ambassador to Bahrain.
The BEO is working on a platform that promotes innovation and exchange of ideas in the economic field. The organisation is also working to enhance and encourage competitiveness, and provide new opportunities to develop the capabilities of Youth and Women Entrepreneurs. BEO chairwoman Feryal Nass welcomed Srivastava and the THMC board members and discussed the BEO’s latest development, BahrainSoog.com.
“From the inception of the BEO in June 2019, one of the projects in the pipelines was an e-Commerce platform to support Bahraini Entrepreneurs to export. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and the lockdowns and closures imposed to prevent the spread of the virus, the BEO sped up its plan and launched this platform, and in doing so assisted numerous Bahrain based businesses to export,” said Nass.
Ambassador Srivastava praised the strong relationship between Bahrain and India that go back thousands of years. THMC President Bob Thaker welcomed the MoU and expressed optimism about the future collaborations and opportunities that the two organisations and their respective networks can develop in the post-COVID-19 world.
Thaker gave a presentation to the ambassador and the BEO members about the upcoming THMC complex and Krishna Temple Redevelopment plan. The US$5 million project will include the expanded temple, state of the art auditorium, a museum, a knowledge centre and other facilities.
