LuLu Hypermarket Bahrain Launches Mango Mania Festival with Over 60 Global Varieties

LuLu Hypermarket Bahrain has launched its highly anticipated Mango Mania Festival across the Kingdom, bringing together more than 60 varieties of mangoes sourced from 11 countries in one of Bahrain’s largest celebrations of the “King of Fruits.”

The festival was officially inaugurated at LuLu Hypermarket – The Avenues in the presence of ambassadors from India, Philippines, Thailand, Sri Lanka, Brazil, Indonesia and Malaysia, all recognised globally for their premium mango production.

India dominates this year’s showcase with 45 different mango varieties, while the festival also features produce from countries including Uganda, Yemen, Saudi Arabia, Thailand, Malaysia, Colombia, Brazil, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Kenya and the Philippines.

The opening ceremony was attended by officials from Gulf Air, LuLu’s strategic logistics partner. The collaboration between the retailer and Bahrain’s national carrier continues to support the import of fresh produce and food supplies into the Kingdom.

Speaking on the partnership, Juzer Rupawala, Director of LuLu Group, said the cooperation with Gulf Air reflects a shared commitment to serving the community and strengthening Bahrain’s food security.

He noted that during recent global supply chain disruptions, LuLu and Gulf Air worked together to airlift more than 3,000 tonnes of fresh produce and essential groceries into Bahrain, adding that the same logistics network now enables the company to deliver freshly harvested produce from around the world directly to customers.

In addition to fresh mangoes, the festival also features a wide range of mango-inspired treats specially prepared by LuLu’s Bakery and Hot Foods teams, including cakes, desserts, salads, pickles, chutneys, beverages and other tropical specialties.

The Mango Mania Festival will continue across all LuLu branches in Bahrain until June 1, offering shoppers exclusive promotions, tasting experiences and the opportunity to explore some of the world’s most popular mango varieties under one roof.
