The “Sustainability” bloc secured a decisive victory in the 31st term of the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry elections for 2026, winning 17 seats on the board in a strong showing that highlights the growing engagement of Bahrain’s business community. Independent candidate Bob Thaker also claimed a seat among the winners.

The Estidamah (Sustainability) bloc, led by Nabeel Kanoo, featured a blend of veteran business leaders, contributing to its strong performance in the elections.

The elections reflected a dynamic commercial landscape, with business owners actively participating in selecting their representatives for the new board of directors.

According to official figures, around 37,000 commercial registrations were eligible to vote. Of these, 2,613 participated in the electoral process, representing a turnout of just over 7%. Additionally, more than 1,028 individuals attended the polling center, contributing to a vibrant and active election atmosphere.

The voting process was conducted smoothly from early morning until the close of polls, with a notable presence of business leaders and company representatives. This strong participation played a key role in the success of the election, which is considered a significant milestone for the Kingdom’s economic sector.

The results underscore the confidence placed in organized blocs with clear programs, as the business community looks ahead to a board capable of addressing economic challenges and supporting growth and sustainability in Bahrain.
