Premium Economy Now Standard on Bahrain Flights

From December 4th, every Emirates flight connecting Bahrain and Dubai will feature the airline’s newest Premium Economy cabins and refreshed Business Class, making Bahrain the only route in the region to be served exclusively with the carrier’s upgraded onboard products.

The move is part of Emirates’ massive fleet retrofit programme, which is introducing Premium Economy to more destinations across the Middle East, India, and beyond. While cities such as Amman, Muscat, and Mumbai will see partial deployment starting in October, only Bahrain will receive a guarantee that every single service will carry the enhanced cabin.

Fleet transformation

The programme is one of the largest of its kind in commercial aviation. A total of 219 aircraft, including 110 Airbus A380s and 109 Boeing 777s, are scheduled for retrofitting, with 67 aircraft already completed. Emirates has been rolling out the work at the rate of one aircraft every three weeks, steadily expanding the reach of its new Premium Economy class.

By the end of 2025, the airline expects to offer Premium Economy across 68 cities worldwide, 36 of them exclusively. That will amount to more than two million seats, up from 1.8 million this year.

Local boost

For travellers in Bahrain, the upgrade promises consistent comfort on one of the Gulf’s busiest short-haul routes. Families, business travellers, and transit passengers alike will benefit from the uniform cabin standard when connecting through Dubai to global destinations.

The first Bahrain service with the new product will operate on Thursday, December 4, 2025, with retrofitted Boeing 777s. From that date forward, all flights on the route will carry the Premium Economy offering. With this commitment, Bahrain’s travellers are assured that their gateway to the world is one of the first to be fully aligned with Emirates’ newest onboard experience.
