Bahrain builds cyber resilience through high-performance integration.

Bahrain is sharpening its cyber defence posture by embracing high-performance computing (HPC) as a core tool for securing critical digital infrastructure.

As part of efforts to accelerate this shift, Zain Bahrain and Oregon Systems co-hosted a high-impact forum spotlighting the growing fusion of performance and protection in enterprise IT.

The event, held on Thursday, brought together international experts and regional decision-makers to explore how advanced computing capabilities can be synchronised with cybersecurity frameworks to fortify digital operations against increasingly complex threats.

Strategic shift

Titled ‘HPC meets Cybersecurity: Protecting the Power of Performance’, the event is the second of its kind led by Zain Business, the B2B arm of Zain Bahrain, in partnership with Oregon Systems. It featured speakers from global cybersecurity and data infrastructure firms such as Everfox, DataDirect Networks (DDN), and Nozomi Networks, all known for their work in digital resilience and operational technology security.

Ali Mustafa, Chief B2B and Wholesale Officer at Zain Bahrain, said the company’s goal was to empower businesses to thrive in the digital era by embedding secure, scalable, and high-performance frameworks. “As cyber threats become increasingly sophisticated, the integration of high-performance computing with robust cybersecurity is no longer optional - it is essential,” he noted.

Global minds, local impact

Participants gained insights into how high-speed environments - from critical infrastructure to financial platforms - can be protected without compromising scale or efficiency. Speakers addressed the urgent need to rethink legacy defences, especially in sectors where performance can no longer be traded off for security.

Jalal Ali, Regional Senior Manager at Oregon Systems, said, “The convergence of HPC and cybersecurity is not just timely - it is essential. This event allows us to showcase the expertise of our global partners and reinforce our commitment to advancing resilience across sectors.”

Mohammed AlAbbasi, Senior OT Business Consultant at Oregon Systems, added, “It’s not just about the technology, but about preparing customers with the tools and understanding they need to secure high-performance environments.”

Future-ready ecosystem

With support from global players and growing domestic urgency, Bahrain is positioning itself as a regional hub for forward-looking cybersecurity practices. For Zain Bahrain and Oregon Systems, the event marks a continued investment in building a digitally resilient future that safeguards national infrastructure while unlocking enterprise growth.
