Indian School celebrates 76th Independence Day

The Indian School Bahrain (ISB) celebrated India’s 76th Independence Day with patriotic fervour yesterday. The celebration was part of ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’, which was launched by the Government of India in March 2021 to commemorate the historic milestone of 75 years of India’s Independence.

The celebrations began with the hoisting of the national flag by ISB Hon.Chairman Prince S Natarajan. Hon. Secretary Saji Antony, Hon. Member-Academics Mohammad Khursheed Alam, Acting-Principal Vinod S, Riffa Campus Acting-Principal Lila Vyas and staff attended the ceremony held at the Isa Town Campus.

The flag-hoisting ceremony was followed by the national anthem. ISB Hon. Chairman Prince S Natarajan conveyed his greetings to the Indian community, adding that the Independence Day ceremony is particularly significant this year as it marks the 75th anniversary of India’s independence, with the government launching a host of programmes to add to the spirit of the celebrations.

“Let’s celebrate Independence Day having freedom in mind, faith in heart, and memories of our heroes in the heart,” he said. Hon. Secretary Saji Antony said: “Today is a day to feel proud about being a part of this great nation. May this spirit of freedom lead us all to success and glory in life.” Principal VR Palaniswamy and Riffa Campus Principal Pamela Xavier and Executive Committee Members conveyed warmest greetings to everyone on this momentous occasion.
