Tourism Minister Fatima bint Jaafar Al Sairafi has affirmed the ministry’s keenness to keep pace with the efforts to support and develop Bahraini youth under the leadership of HM Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the care and attention HM accords to young people to boost their creativity and include them into the national development process.

The ministry is also working to implement the directives of HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to set the appropriate ground for unleashing and activating the energies of youth, she said.

Al Sairafi stressed the ministry's commitment to including the youth into its plans, initiatives and programs.

The ministry is particularly keen to energize "sports tourism" within the framework of the efforts and youth empowerment initiatives of HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Charitable Works and Youth Affairs, and Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports.

The minister also referred to the contributions of HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, Chairman of the General Sports Authority, and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, to empower Bahraini sports youth for further achievements.

Al Sairafi said that the ministry is working to provide more support to Bahraini youth and encourage them to engage in the tourism sector and avail of its employment and growth opportunities.

The ministry is also encouraging young people to launch businesses and companies specialized in tourism and entertainment that contribute to supporting the prosperity of the sector, she added.

Al Sairafi hailed the ability of Bahraini youth to understand the requirements of the contemporary tourism industry and to provide an innovative Bahraini tourism product.

Empowering Bahraini youth in the tourism sector would also attract more young regional and international tourists, based on programs and events that meet youth interests and achieve their aspirations, and focus on sectors related to sports tourism, she said.

The youth can also work with private tourism sector facilities on marketing plans and promotions for young people, she added in her statement.
