Bahrain schools join National Sports Day celebrations

Schools all over the Kingdom joined hands with Bahrain for National Sports Day by organising a variety of activities.

The allocation of February 10, 2022, as the Kingdom’s Sports Day follows the decision of the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa.

The event also enjoys the backing of Representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs, HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa and Bahrain Olympic Committee led by First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports and Chairman of the General Sports Authority, HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa.

New Millennium School

The New Millennium School held several sports and games through hybrid mode.

The highlight was a friendly football match between the administrative and teaching staff members.

Students took part in an online quiz on Bahrain national games and participated in games like skipping the rope, tug of war etc.

Principal Arun Kuumar Sharma stressed the importance of sports in a student’s life.

Chairman Dr Ravi Pillai and the Managing Director, Geeta Pillai, congratulated the staff and students.

Bhavans-Bahrain Indian school

Bhavans-Bahrain Indian school conducted activities for students testing their physical fitness and mental alertness.

Students took part in various games online and in person.

Games included one leg hula hoop jump, zigzag running, jumping above the dice, hula hoop drill, musical chair, balancing the cup on the bottle, plank holding, pillar the post with cups and many more.

Teachers also took part in sporting activities and warm-up exercises.

Directors Himanshu Verma & Ritu Verma and Principal Saji Jacob congratulated and encouraged all the students to remain healthy and follow a fitness regime.

NHS

NHS celebrated Sports Day virtually, highlighting the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

Two sessions were conducted - in the first session, students and teachers did Yoga, Aerobics or Calisthenics drills.

In the next session, teachers and the Student Council members did exercises.

They also competed with their friends via zoom.
