Summer Festival concludes

It attracted more than 80,000 visitors

The Bahrain Summer Festival concluded yesterday, attracting over 80,000 visitors to the event.

  The festival with a closing ceremony at Nakhool Garden in the presence of Shaikha Mai bint Mohammed Al Khalifa, president of Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities.

 Shaikha Mai said, “The summer festival is a declaration of familiarity among all nations in this beautiful humanitarian industry as Bahrain celebrated its summer beauty, which proves its sentiment for culture and homeliness.”

 She pointed out that Bahrain’s culture deserves to be showered with art and joy, noting her appreciation for Bahraini families who visited and celebrated the culture through their contributions in the seventh Bahrain Summer Festival.

 She expressed her sincere thanks to the BACA and its sponsors, including Egypt, France, Philippines and UK embassies that played a vital role in enriching the festival.

 She also expressed her thanks to their media sponsors, Daily Tribune, Rotana Magazine, Olala, Kouponer, Bahrain This Week, Fact and Your FM.

 Meanwhile, the Nakhool Garden received more than 60,000 visitors in a month since its launch in Sitra Mall.

 The Garden provided a wide range of cultural events for children from 2 to 16 years of age.

 The performing arts of the summer fest received more than 20,000 people starting with theater performances from renowned playwright and actor Wolfe Bowart in ‘La La Luna’.

 Then there was ‘Barney around the World’ calling out his friends and other children to join his adventures.

 ‘Sesame Street: Elmo Makes Music’, also attracted a huge crowd.

 The summer fest also witnessed an enriching cultural musical experience with Ballet Philippines and Wrecking Crew Orchestra from Japan.
