Manama

Have you ever seen monsters making music? No? Then, get ready for a musical event like no other! Sesame Street Live, the live touring show based on children’s television show Sesame Street, is coming to Bahrain as part of Bahrain Summer Festival, which runs till August 31.

Elmo, Abby Cadabby, Big Bird and all their Sesame Street friends is all set to share their love of music in this family-friendly show, which starts tomorrow at the Cultural Hall.

Hosted by two live performers, Sesame Street Live “Let’s Dance!” offers an up-close, interactive experience like you’ve never experienced before! Through this show everyone’s favorite fun, furry and feathered friends teach children to create and enjoy beautiful music together.

It also gives them a chance to explore the universal fun of friendship and celebrate cultural similarities, from singing and dancing, to sharing the cookies!

You, the audience, are also invited to dance as all of your favorite Sesame Street friends join you on the floor. Don’t worry, age doesn't matter, you can always dance!

In addition to ongoing dance parties, Elmo uses his imagination to "Do the Robot”, Cookie Monster teaches all ‘feets’ to dance and Ernie shares the fun of dance with the Sesame Street favorite “Shake Your Head One Time.”

Produced by Minneapolis-based VEE Corporation, the show opened on September 17, 1980, with a production of Sesame Street Live "Missing Bird Mystery" playing at the Met Center in Bloomington, Minnesota.

Sesame Street Live is now produced as three or four separate tours, each performing a different show, with its own plot, characters, scenery, and soundtrack. Shows are performed in arenas and theatres around the world, generally working on an eight to ten month touring schedule ending in the spring and resuming in the late summer.

The shows feature original music scores and songs, complemented with old favorites from the show, and professional dancers as costumed characters performing the parts of the Muppets.
