Manama

An official of Special Security Force Command of Bahrain (SSFC) died in a tragic car accident in Saudi Arabia. The deceased has been identified as Hussain Ali Ahmed.

According to sources, his wife and two of his daughters also succumbed to their injuries in the accident. His six-year-old son survived the crash, but he is said to be in a critical condition in a Saudi hospital.

The incident occurred in Qassim area while they were returning after performing Umrah. Ministry of Foreign Affairs has earlier announced the death of Hussain Ali, his wife and one of his children, via its Twitter account. Meanwhile, it added that other injured had been admitted at a hospital in Saudi. But a source confirmed later that two of his children have actually died in the fatal crash.

He explained that the mishap occurred as a result of a deflated tyre while the car was at a high speed.

“Passers-by tried to save them, but they died on the spot. His son was the only survivor, but doctors told us that his condition was critical,” he added.
