Premier restructures High Human Rights Coordination Committee

Manama : His Royal Highness Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa the Prime Minister issued Edict 31/2017 restructuring the High Human Rights Coordination Committee.

HRH the Premier’s Edict stipulated the restructuring of the Committee presided over by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, and comprising the following members: Assistant Foreign Minister, as Vice President and representatives from the Foreign Ministry, Interior Ministry, Ministry of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments, Education Ministry, Labour and Social Development Ministry, Health Ministry, Information Affairs Ministry, Public Prosecution, Supreme Council of Women, Legislation and Legal Opinion Commission, National Communication Centre, National Security Agency, Ombudsman Office and Special Investigation Unit.

The names of members will be issued by the Committee’s president - i.e. the Minister of Foreign Affairs - upon their nomination from the respective departments. Members should be in the rank of assistant undersecretary or its equivalent. The duration of membership will be three years renewable for similar period(s). If a member’s seat becomes vacant, he/she will be duly replaced by a representative of the same department to complete the tenure of his/her predecessor.
