UK royalty treated to horse show

Manama : The importance of promoting authentic sports like horse racing locally and across the world was pointed out by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and Prince Charles, the Prince of Wales, yesterday.

This comes as HM King received Prince Charles and his spouse, the Duchess of Cornwall, at the Al Safriya Palace yesterday. Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa was also present.

HM the King exchanged cordial talks with Prince Charles on the outstanding solid deep-rooted Bahrain-UK relations, which are based on mutual respect and joint coordination in various fields.

HM King Hamad lauded the visit of the Prince of Wales, and affirmed that it reflects the advanced level and distinction of the ever-progressing relations between the two friendly kingdoms, highlighting the role played by Prince Charles in strengthening bilateral ties for the best interests of the two countries and their peoples.

HM the King, Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall attended a show of authentic Bahraini and Arabian horses known for distinctive characteristics and quality.

The Prince of Wales and his spouse were briefed on the characteristics of these horses, and the efforts being exerted to take care of them and preserve their breed.

HM King Hamad affirmed Bahrain’s keenness on participating in various races held in UK, especially in the Royal Windsor Horse Show.

Prince Charles thanked HM the King for the auspicious welcome and hospitality accorded to him and his spouse while in Bahrain, which, he said, reflects the authenticity of the Kingdom and the hospitality of its people. He also voiced admiration for the show of genuine Bahraini horses known for their beauty and high quality.

HM King Hamad thanked Prince Charles for his visit to the Kingdom, and hailed the visit’s positive outcomes and role in developing the long-standing relations between the two nations in various fields.
