Sports sector on right track, says Al Rahma

Manama : Huge steps have been taken to improve the youth and sports movement in Bahrain, according to Ghazi Al Rahma, Youth and Sports Parliamentary Committee Chairman. 

Speaking to DT News following a special ceremony held by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa last Sunday, Al Rahma highlighted the recent unprecedented achievements in the field and affirmed that the youth and sports development in the Kingdom is on the right track.

Earlier, in his speech announcing the commencement of the third session of the fourth legislative term, HM King appreciated the contributions of the young sports persons in placing Bahrain in the international spotlight.

“The achievements of the Bahraini youth in international sporting events where they won gold, silver and bronze medals have raised, the banner of our country high,” King Hamad said.

Citing the speech, the MP described HM King  as the “first sponsor of national sports”.

“King Hamad underscored the key role of the youth and the recent accomplishments attained in international arenas by Bahraini athletes,” Al Rahma said.

On the occasion of the beginning of the new session of the legislative term, the lawmaker added that the council will spare no efforts in passing laws and regulations that support and empower the Bahraini youth and sports movement.
