‘Build your business’

 Microsoft Bahrain in collaboration with Bahrain Technology Companies (BTECH) society and Tamkeen conducted its first ‘Build Your Business’ training course for the young entrepreneurs.

According to a press release issued yesterday, the 7-day ‘train the trainers’ programme was held as a part of global initiative by Microsoft and International Youth Foundation. The main objective of the programme was to introduce the aspiring youth with the basic principles required to launch small enterprises. It is a key initiative in Microsoft’s continued investment in the Kingdom and the region to foster local business growth and entrepreneurship.

Regional Country Manager for Microsoft Bahrain and Oman Sherif Tawfik said that the aim of the programme was to empower the entrepreneurs and startups with tools and the know-how to develop their ideas into businesses.

This session witnessed the participation of about 20 young Bahraini trainers representing ministries and government organizations as well as a number of independent trainers.

Addressing the graduation ceremony, President of the Bahrain Society for Technological Companies, Obaidli Al-Obaidli said that the goal of the programme goes beyond the actual content of the session to developing the trainers’ skills. He asked the trainers to pass their expertise to other entrepreneurs in Bahrain as well.

Tamkeen representative Raed Abdulla said that the object of the programme was to enhance the business eco-system in Bahrain and encourage entrepreneurs to transform their ideas into businesses.

Khaled Al Awadi, a participant from Tamkeen said that the programme provided knowledge and skills required to better serve the clients of Tamkeen and help them in their businesses. Aisha Hassan Al Faou, Educational Consultant at the Ministry of Education said that she would benefit from the programme in launching her own business.
