International Yoga Day celebrated in the Indian School

Under the patronage of The Embassy of India, the Indian School celebrated the International Yoga Day on Sunday. Mr. Ram Singh, Charge de affairs of theIndian Embassy was the Chief Guest of the function.

The function commenced with the National Anthems of Bahrain and India and the recitation from the Holy Quran. Mr. Ram Singh lit the traditional lamp in the presence of the Principal, Vice- Principals and the other guests.

The students spoke at length on the benefits of yoga and how it can be made a part of daily life. A spectacular display of yoga postures were carried out by the students. Nearly 200 students performed yoga under the training of Mr. Chinnaswamy, the Football coach and the guidance of Mr. Jallaludhin. 

Mr. Ram Singh spoke to the students and said that  the students will benefit from  practicing yoga  regularly and it will increase their concentration. The students Namita Ashok, Andrea Paul, Namrata Pambasavan and Pravin Benny of the school managed the entire programme and presented a spectacular show.
