Trespassing: Sentence of Asians upheld

Manama

Two Bangladeshi nationals, convicted of entering a building without permission, had their jail terms upheld.

One of the appellants reportedly entered the under-construction building with his Indonesian girlfriend after its doorkeeper (co-accused) gave him the door key.

The 35-year-old reportedly stayed in the building for almost an hour and they were caught by surprise when the owner arrived.

The owner apprehended the accused, though he attempted to escape the building by jumping out through the window.

The owner earlier accused him of sneaking into his building to have sex with the 32-year-old woman.

But the accused denied the allegations, explaining he was in the building to chat with her.

The woman, however, claimed she was discussing with the accused about a job he had promised.

The doorman became involved the case after the first accused revealed he got the key from the former.

The woman wasn't charged in the case, but the doorman was accused of breach of duty.

They were sentenced to two months each behind bars, following which, they would be deported.
