Victorious secure ‘Nasser 9’ title

Manama : Victorious defeated Batelco Gunners United in the final game of ‘Nasser 9’ Ramadan Football Tournament. 

HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of Bahrain Olympic Committee, deputised HH Shaikh Mohammed bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the son of the HRH Crown Prince, to crown the winners.

Shaikh Mohammed also rewarded the runner-up players as well as the referees of the match.

Shaikh Mohammed congratulated the winners, expressing his delight at the performances they showcased. 

On his behalf, Shaikh Nasser hailed the success achieved by the tournament, attributing it to the collective and professional work of the members of the various committees. 

Closing ceremony today

The closing ceremony of the ‘Nasser 9’ will be hosted today under the patronage of Shaikh Nasser and hosted by Sara Abdulaziz, MBC’s renowned anchor, who will be joined by media personnel Feras Al Fahadi.

Bashar Abdullah, former Kuwaiti international player, will attend the event as guest of honour, while Tawfeeq Anwar will in a performance display skills with a football.

Moreover, Shaikh Nasser will deliver a speech during the event after which he will reward representatives of ministries and civil organisations. 

The tournament’s sponsors will be also given appreciation gifts as well as  Tawfeeq Salehi, the Head of the Organising Committee of Nasser 9 and  Abdulrahman Askar, the President of the Advisory Committee.

 

Athletic Competition winners crowned

Runner Ammar Khalifa stormed to victory in the 100m race, followed by Mohammed Abdulrahman.

Zainab Abdulhussain and Areca finished first and second respectively in the girls’ 80m race, followed by Rawan Ahmed. A relay race was also held during the same event.

Shaikh Mohammed crowned the winners of the Athletic competition as part of  ‘Nasser 9’. The event was held at the halftime of the football tournament.
