No charging students for graduation ceremonies: Edu Ministry

Manama: The Ministry of Education has directed private schools and kindergartens not to impose any fees on students participating in graduation ceremonies unless they receive the approval of parents.

The Ministry also directed not to enforce mandatory participation of students, which should be an optional choice and not to impose any fees to non-participants in the ceremonies.

Assistant Under Secretary of Private & Continuous Education at the Education Ministry Dr Abdul Ghani Saleh Al Shuwaikh pointed out that this circular has come due to numerous complaints received from parents, which led the Ministry to relieve the parents and not to exhaust them with high expenses.

He stressed that Private & Continuous Education officials will be monitoring private educational institutions’ commitment to abide by the directive without any violation.
