Essam bin Abdulaziz Al Jassim, Ambassador of the Bahrain to the France, received a delegation from the Bahrain Journalists Association participating in the International Federation of Journalists (IFJ) Congress held in Paris from May 4 to 7.
The delegation included Rashid Nabeel Al Hamer, Vice President of the Bahrain Journalists Association and Chair of the International Relations Committee, as well as Rasha Ibrahim Al Ibrahim, Board Member and Chair of the Women’s Committee.
During the meeting, Ambassador Al Jassim congratulated the delegation on Bahrain’s election to the IFJ Executive Committee following the election of Rashid Nabeel Al Hamer, who secured 122 votes during the congress.
He described the achievement as a significant milestone reflecting the growing international presence and reputation of Bahraini journalism.
The Ambassador also praised the support extended to Bahrain’s media sector by King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the continued support and follow-up of Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, noting that such backing has strengthened Bahrain’s media landscape and enabled the sector to achieve notable accomplishments internationally.
Ambassador Al Jassim further commended the Bahrain Journalists Association for its efforts in strengthening cooperation with international media institutions and promoting Bahrain’s positive image globally, while enhancing the participation of Bahraini media professionals in international forums.
For his part, Rashid Nabeel Al Hamer expressed appreciation to the Ambassador for receiving the delegation and reaffirmed the importance of supporting Bahraini talents and representing the Kingdom positively on the international stage.
He added that Bahrain’s election to the IFJ Executive Committee reflects the strong support provided to the journalism and media sector by the Kingdom’s leadership, as well as Bahrain’s established reputation within international media circles.
