Manama: The U.S. Embassy in Bahrain has issued a security alert after reports that the Crowne Plaza Bahrain was struck on March 1, 2026, leaving several people injured.
In the alert, the embassy said it is tracking confirmed reports of the incident and warned that hotels in Manama could be potential targets for further attacks.
As a precaution, the embassy has moved U.S. government personnel out of hotels and advised American citizens in Bahrain to avoid staying in hotels in the capital.
Safety Advice for U.S. Citizens
The embassy urged residents and visitors to remain vigilant and follow safety measures if they hear explosions or emergency sirens.
People inside buildings are advised to move to the lowest level of the structure, away from windows and exterior walls. Those outdoors should immediately seek shelter in a secure building or lie down and protect their heads if no shelter is available.
Officials also warned that even when missiles or drones are intercepted, falling debris can pose serious risks.
Emergency Contacts
In case of emergencies in Bahrain, residents should dial 999 for police or emergency services.
U.S. citizens can also contact the consular section of the U.S. Embassy in Bahrain for assistance.
Authorities further advised people to avoid demonstrations, large gatherings, and areas with heavy police presence, and to closely follow instructions issued by local authorities and official news sources.
