His Excellency Saikh Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Deputy Prime Minister, chaired the 292nd meeting of the Ministerial Committee for Developmental and Infrastructure Projects.
In line with the Cabinet’s decision to refer real estate development projects to the committee for review as stalled projects, the committee approved referring several real estate projects managed by Bin Faqih Real Estate Investment Company to the specialized Committee for Settling Stalled Real Estate Development Projects.
This decision follows the mechanism established under Legislative Decree No. (66) of 2014 regarding the settlement of stalled real estate projects. The committee, after coordination with relevant authorities, reviewed the projects’ debts, obligations, and associated rights. It found the developer lacked seriousness and was unable to complete the projects, either due to unfinished construction or failure to deliver property documents to buyers.
The committee also discussed a draft decision outlining the regulations and powers of engineering offices to support municipal service licenses and explored solutions for providing additional parking around some government service centers.
Additionally, the committee reviewed updates on the electronic monitoring system for waste transport and the mechanisms for addressing illegal waste disposal. It also discussed developments in the Tubleh Bay Environmental Improvement Project and reviewed the National Investment Plan for Climate Change Adaptation.
The committee further received updates on the progress of the first phase of the Bahraini Halal System.
