Young Patriots Shine at New Horizon School’s Republic Day Commemoration

New Horizon School marked the 77th Republic Day with great enthusiasm and patriotic spirit across both its campuses in Zinj and Segaya on 25th January 2026. The celebration, organized by the Social Studies Department under the guidance of Mrs. Gladis Sheejo, witnessed active participation from students and staff alike. This year’s Republic Day celebrations were truly inspiring, centered around the theme of “Vande Mataram” and military defense.
The event commenced with a ceremonial march past, showcasing discipline and coordination among the students. This was followed by the solemn flag hoisting ceremony by the Chairman, Mr. Joy Mathews, Principal, Mrs. Vandana Sateesh and Junior principal Mrs. Nirmala Angelose, a moment that filled the atmosphere with national pride and reverence.
A highlight of the event was a soulful song dedicated to the spirit of “Vande Mataram” performed with heartfelt passion by the students. The Chairman, Mr. Joy Mathews, addressed the students and staff, emphasizing the responsibilities of young citizens in building a strong and united nation.
Adding to the pride of the occasion, the school also celebrated a remarkable achievement by one of its students. Riya Dawane of Class V was selected as one of the best performers in singing at the prestigious ‘Vande Mataram Competition’ conducted by the Government of India. In recognition of her outstanding talent, she received an invitation to witness the Republic Day Parade 2026 at Kartavya Path, New Delhi.
