Bahrain is preparing to buy medicines, vaccines and serums worth about BD 140 million to meet demand across the health sector in 2026 and 2027, according to newly released Tender Board figures.
The Board awarded a tender worth BD139,886,871 to supply medicines, vaccines and serums to Shifa’a National Medical Supply warehouses, for use by government hospitals, primary healthcare centres and military hospitals over the next two years.
The purchasing will be overseen by the National Unified Procurement Committee for Medicines and Medical Supplies under the Supreme Council of Health.
The committee monitors the national strategic stock of medicines, sets benchmarks for warehousing and delivery, and reviews and approves purchasing contracts and supplies sent to the warehouses.
