The Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA) announced the launch of diving and pearling tourism experiences, coinciding with Celebrate Bahrain 2025.
These experiences come as part of the Authority’s efforts to diversify tourism offerings and revive Bahrain’s authentic heritage, in line with promoting marine activities as a key pillar in the Tourism Sector Strategy 2022–2026.
Dana Osama Al Saad, Deputy CEO of Resources and Projects at BTEA, said that launching these experiences during Celebrate Bahrain 2025 is part of the Authority’s efforts to diversify tourism products and enrich the visitor experience by combining Bahrain’s maritime heritage with modern tourism and highlighting the Kingdom’s long history in diving and pearling.
Al Saad added that the experiences will be available yearround, giving citizens, residents, and tourists a chance to explore an important aspect of the national heritage through a practical experience that forms part of Bahrain’s identity.
She noted that the partnership with Masar Group is central to the success of this tourism product due to their expertise in managing marine activities and providing experiences according to the highest safety standards, enhancing a tourism experience that combines culture, heritage, and marine activities.
The tourism experience trips will depart from Sa’ada and Bu Maher ports, and guided tours will be offered at the UNESCO-listed Pearling Path Visitor Center. The experiences include two main activity categories: the Pearl Diving Experience for licensed divers aged 18 and above, and the Shallow Diving Experience (2–4 metres) for swimmers aged 16 and above.
