13th Bahrain Farmers’ Market Opens At Budaiya Botanical Garden

The 13th edition of the Bahrain Farmers’ Market officially opened today at the Budaiya Botanical Garden, welcoming visitors to a new season that runs until 14 February 2026. Organised in partnership with stc Bahrain, the weekly market operates every Saturday from 7 AM to 2 PM, offering an open-air setting where the public can purchase fresh local produce and support Bahraini farmers.

The organising committee has announced several guidelines aimed at ensuring visitor safety and maintaining smooth movement inside the garden. Smoking, bicycles, portable ovens, balls, and pets are prohibited, while professional photography requires prior approval from the organisers.

The opening week features a variety of activities, including a traditional performance by the Dar Al Budaiya Al Janoubiya troupe and educational workshops such as “Farming with Young Growers” and an interactive session with farm animals. Youth-led entrepreneurial projects are also participating in collaboration with the Ministry of Youth Affairs.

Ahead of the season launch, the committee held a briefing session with participating farmers to review regulations and ensure the readiness of agricultural stalls. The market continues to attract high footfall each year from Bahraini families and visitors from the GCC due to its fresh produce, family-friendly atmosphere, and hands-on learning experiences.

This year’s edition includes 32 Bahraini farmers, 7 beekeepers, 4 date producers, 6 nursery owners, 4 agricultural companies, as well as several home-based businesses, craftsmen, restaurants, cafés, and local vendors.

Today’s programme includes three practical workshops: “Cup Planting,” “Natural Flower Arrangement,” and “Farming with Young Growers,” forming part of a weekly schedule designed to promote agricultural awareness and highlight the value of supporting local production.
