Shamsaha, the Middle East’s first and only multilingual, 24/7 mobile-app-based crisis support service for women, has officially launched Shamsaha App 2.0, developed in collaboration with Bahraini software company RainCode.

The updated app marks a significant step in Shamsaha’s mission to provide confidential, accessible, and culturally sensitive support for women across Bahrain and the wider region.

Accessibility and Safety

The enhanced app incorporates years of field experience and user feedback to deliver a more intuitive, secure, and feature-rich platform.

Key upgrades include simplified navigation, enhanced privacy and safety measures, an improved chat interface, and seamless access to 24/7 crisis support in multiple languages.

Through this partnership, Shamsaha and RainCode highlight how technology can effectively empower and protect women in challenging circumstances.

Collaboration

“This collaboration allows us to reach even more women who may be isolated, silenced, or unsafe,” said Dr. Mary-Justine Todd, Founder and CEO of Shamsaha. “Shamsaha App 2.0 strengthens our ability to provide psychosocial first aid and mental health support wherever it is needed most.”

Connor De Freene, Managing Partner of RainCode, added: “We are proud to contribute our technical expertise to such a meaningful cause. Together, we are ensuring that every woman has access to safety and support, directly from her phone.
