52 Young Men and Women Selected for Eighth Edition of Youth Parliamentarian Program

The Youth Pioneer Society has launched the eighth edition of its “Youth Parliamentarian” program for 2025, in collaboration with the Shura Council and in strategic partnership with the British Embassy in Bahrain and the German Konrad Adenauer Foundation, with media support from Al-Ayam Newspaper and Daily Tribune.

The program’s first activities began with an introductory session organized for the 52 selected young men and women, chosen from over 100 applicants. Selection followed rigorous evaluation stages, including personal interviews and leadership personality assessments. The initiative reflects the Society’s mission to prepare a generation of youth equipped with the knowledge and skills to actively contribute to national development and decision-making processes.

Ms. Ameera Mahmood, Chairwoman of the Youth Pioneer Society, highlighted that since its launch in 2014, the program has been a pioneering platform to showcase the potential of Bahraini youth and enhance their competitiveness both locally and internationally. She noted that the strong participation in this edition underscores the program’s strategic relevance, particularly in addressing global challenges that demand active youth engagement.

Ms. Mahmood also emphasized that the program’s ongoing collaboration with distinguished national and international institutions demonstrates its tangible impact, contributing to Bahrain’s reputation as a supportive environment for youth initiatives.

Jawaher AlSenan, General Coordinator of the program, explained that the initiative consists of multiple phases. The training phase includes workshops aimed at building key skills, followed by a practical phase where participants engage in roundtable discussions and visits to the Shura Council to gain insights into legislation and decision-making. The exchange phase allows outstanding participants to visit the British Parliament, while the program concludes with the ninth Youth Parliamentarian Forum and a closing ceremony featuring awards for the participants.
