Bahrain Cabinet Condemns Israeli Attack on Qatar, Supports Two-State Solution for Palestine
The Kingdom of Bahrain’s Cabinet reviewed the latest regional and international developments in its weekly meeting, chaired today by His Excellency Shaikh Khalid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, Deputy Prime Minister, at Gudaibiya Palace.
The Cabinet expressed strong condemnation of the recent Israeli attack on the State of Qatar, describing it as a blatant violation of Qatari sovereignty and international law. Bahrain reaffirmed its full solidarity with Qatar in safeguarding its security, sovereignty, and the safety of its citizens and residents. The Cabinet also extended condolences to Qatar’s leadership, government, and people following the death of a member of Qatar’s Internal Security Force as a result of the attack.
A delegation from Bahrain, led by His Highness Shaikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Personal Representative of His Majesty the King, will participate in the Extraordinary Arab-Islamic Summit hosted by Qatar to address the incident. The Cabinet expressed its best wishes for the Summit’s success in achieving outcomes that strengthen Arab and Islamic solidarity and promote regional security and stability.
On the Palestinian issue, the Cabinet welcomed the recent adoption by the United Nations General Assembly of a resolution endorsing the New York Declaration on a two-state solution. The resolution affirms the international community’s commitment to achieving a future of security and stability for Palestine. Bahrain commended the efforts of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the French Republic in facilitating the issuance and adoption of the declaration.
The Cabinet also highlighted the importance of strengthening bilateral ties with the United Arab Emirates, noting the recent visit of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to Bahrain, which reaffirms the commitment to enhanced coordination and cooperation between the two countries.
In other developments, the Cabinet welcomed the launch of the Arab Shipbuilding and Repair Yard (ASRY) solar energy project, the largest of its kind globally in the marine repair and construction sector, in cooperation with Kanoo CleanMax Renewables. The initiative, attended by His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Chairman of Bapco Energies, reflects Bahrain’s commitment to sustainable environmental initiatives.
The Cabinet also praised the successful hosting of the Second Global Water, Energy and Climate Change Congress in Bahrain, noting its contribution to advancing global sustainability efforts.
Furthermore, the Cabinet reviewed and approved key memorandums on restructuring government agencies to improve efficiency and on responding to draft laws submitted by the Council of Representatives and the Shura Council. Ministerial reports on various official visits, international participations, and forums were also acknowledged, underscoring Bahrain’s active engagement in regional and global affairs.
