Southern Governorate Strengthens Community Engagement through Weekly Council Meetings

As part of ongoing efforts to strengthen communication with residents and monitor their needs, His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Ali Al Khalifa, Governor of the Southern Governorate, received a number of community elders and representatives of civil society organizations at the Governorate Council. The meeting was held in the presence of Brigadier Hamad Mohammed Al-Khyat, Deputy Governor, along with several officers and officials from the Southern Governorate.

At the outset of the meeting, His Highness welcomed the attendees and emphasized that fostering community engagement and closeness is the primary objective of the weekly council meetings. This approach reflects the wise directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, may God protect him, and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, may God protect him. His Highness also highlighted the importance of monitoring and improving the quality of services provided to citizens and residents, ensuring comprehensive and sustainable development throughout the Southern Governorate.

His Highness underscored the significance of direct meetings, noting their pivotal role in driving overall development. He explained that the weekly council serves as a direct channel of communication with residents, allowing for the identification and follow-up of their needs and aspirations, and ensuring their implementation in reality with the required quality, in cooperation with relevant authorities. This initiative is part of continuous efforts to provide better services and meet the expectations of residents in the Southern Governorate.

During the meeting, His Highness listened to a number of service and social-related suggestions and observations from the residents, affirming close follow-up on all feedback in coordination with service authorities, ensuring the highest standards in addressing the needs of the Southern Governorate community.

At the conclusion of the weekly council, residents expressed their gratitude and appreciation to His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Ali Al Khalifa for his constant communication and dedicated efforts in coordinating with residents and addressing their needs. They commended his work in fostering integrated cooperation with various authorities and sectors to serve the community of the Southern Governorate.
