Government hospitals confirmed that Civil Defense teams successfully contained a limited fire that broke out this evening in a wing of Salmaniya Medical Complex, thanks to their rapid response and close cooperation with on-duty medical and technical staff.

Authorities said specialized teams brought the fire under control in record time. Initial reports indicate that the blaze was caused by a patient with a prior history of drug abuse and multiple previous self-harm attempts.

The patient sustained minor burns, while another individual suffered smoke inhalation. No other injuries were reported among patients, staff, or visitors.

Precautionary measures, including partial evacuation, were implemented in line with approved emergency protocols to ensure the safety of all occupants.

Government hospitals confirmed that operations at the medical complex continued normally following the incident.

They expressed gratitude to all agencies involved in the response, particularly the Civil Defense, and reiterated their commitment to maintaining the highest safety standards and taking the necessary legal measures within healthcare facilities.
