Bahrain, Japan Explore New Avenues of Cooperation at Strategic Dialogue
Meeting reviews political, economic, and investment cooperation
Bahrain’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, met today in Tokyo with Horiuchi Noriko, Chairperson of the Foreign Affairs Committee in the Japanese Parliament, during his official visit to Japan to participate in the first Strategic Dialogue between the two countries.
At the start of the meeting, Horiuchi welcomed Dr. Al Zayani and praised the launch of the Strategic Dialogue, highlighting the strong and historic ties between Bahrain and Japan. She emphasized the importance of strengthening communication and coordination to further develop bilateral cooperation at all levels, including political, diplomatic, and parliamentary relations, as well as aligning positions on key global challenges.
Dr. Al Zayani reaffirmed Bahrain’s commitment to advancing relations with Japan, noting that the partnership is entering an important phase of growth. He stressed that the Strategic Dialogue offers a valuable opportunity to expand cooperation in economic, trade, investment, and development sectors, along with other areas of mutual interest.
The two sides reviewed ways to enhance bilateral collaboration and exchanged views on regional and international developments, including the situation in the Middle East, East Asia, and Europe, as well as global efforts to resolve conflicts and promote peace, security, and stability.
The meeting was also attended by Bahrain’s Ambassador to Japan, Ahmed Mohammed Aldoseri; Undersecretary for Political Affairs, Ambassador Khalid Yousif Al Jalahma; Head of Coordination and Follow-up Sector, Ambassador Saeed Abdulkhaliq; and Head of Asian Affairs Sector, Ms. Munira Noufal Aldoseri.
